The best time to pick red fruits is June to September, first thing in the cool summer morning. With my brother, we go hunting the raspberries (framboises), either in grandma’s garden or in the woods. You have to choose them carefully, for once they are picked, they stop ripening and don’t keep very long. Although at the beginning of the season, when they are so beautiful and so juicy, we eat loads, we also make a lot of jam! Grandma even makes squashes and liqueurs, apparently great in aperitifs! For me, I am really proud of my new recipe, I invented it all myself: I mash fresh raspberries into my dough, place it in the oven and when you bite into a framboisier, it has a wonderful pink colour. A pleasure to see and taste!
